The Dades Gorges, the Todra Gorges, the Draa River Valley, and Ait Benhaddou are all included in this itinerary. It also takes you off the usual route to the big desert, where you will stay in a bivouac in the Oum Jrane area.
Arrival at the Menara Airport in Marrakech. Welcome and support are provided.
Transfer to hotel.
After breakfast, drive to the Tizi n'Tichka pass in a 4x4. You'll exit the main road just after the pass to get to Telouet. You'll see the Glaoui Kasbah, which for years dominated the caravan road from Black Africa to Marrakech. Lunch is arranged at a delightful inn in Telouet, along a river surrounded by orchards. In the afternoon, you'll descend the old trail to arrive at At Benhaddou in the late afternoon, when the old hamlet is finest lighted by the setting sun. Night in an inn with a view of the ancient village.
We recommend beginning the day with a walk through the UNESCO-listed historic earthen settlement. After that, you'll go to Ouarzazate to see the Taourirt Kasbah. The route continues on through the rugged environment of the Saghro Mountains, which is rather magnificent. Lunch is scheduled at Tamnougalte, a very ancient village that served as the setting for the film 'Tea in the Sahara.' Some families, with the help of European NGOs, are attempting to retain a semblance of life here. The restaurant is housed in one of these renovated ancient buildings, which has been converted into a tiny museum of ancestral life. The path follows the Draa River valley throughout the afternoon. The road travels through the valley, which is actually a valley
We recommend a camel ride in the palm grove after breakfast. Then, proceed westward to the desert. You'll pass through several true tiny villages, such as Tissemoumine, with its palm trees and gardens. Set up the bivouac at Oum Jrane, deep in the desert, in the evening.
After breakfast, head north on the track to Alnif, a tiny hamlet famed for its fossil-rich terrain and a sanctuary for specialists who come from all over to prospect. The trail next passes the Saghro cliffs, a severely barren area of rocks and black cliffs. You'll arrive in Tineghir in the evening and spend the night in a real kasbah, inn, or hotel.
After breakfast, you'll go to the famous Todra Gorges. Then, take the main route back to Boumalne and the Dades Gorges. This route has become one of the most picturesque tourist routes in the country after the road was extended to Msemrir. In Bou Tharar, I spent the night in a sanctuary.
Return to Marrakech by way of Ouarzazate and the Tichka pass. In Marrakech, I spent the night in a hotel.
Transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport after breakfast. Check-in assistance is available.
